Install Awn on Ubuntu 7.10 AMD64
I decided to write this tutorial because most people spend a lot of time to find out how to install software (awn) on 64-bit system, since most tutorials give information only for 32-bit systems
Open a terminal and type first this command (1 line)
echo -e deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/syzygy42 gutsy avant-window-navigator | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
and then this one (1 line)
echo -e deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/syzygy42 gutsy avant-window-navigator | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/syzygy42/F4ECF181.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
Finally, again from a terminal, given these 2 commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator-bzr awn-core-applets-bzr
If everything went well, you can start by selecting Avant Navigator Window menu Applications> Accessories.
Now you can customize it through Awn manager (System> Preferences).
To set the autostart, go to System> Preferences> Sessions click on the tab “Programs boot” click on Add button and in the Name box type Avant Windows Navigator and in the Command box type avant-window-navigator.
At the next login awn automatically launched.
Thanks for the changes: Lusis, Pepe91.
Ciao
